Creating Custom Players

Sometimes you'll want to create custom playlists for your episodes for easy listening! The best way to do that is by customizing your embedded player using tags! This comes in handy if you want to split your podcast into two or more categories while keeping them all on the same feed.

Let's say you want to create a playlist that only has your interview episodes on it! The process of setting that up is simple. Just create the tag "Interview" and then add it as a tag on all episodes in your feed that are an interview! Then all episodes that are tagged with "Interview" will show in one embed player together.

You can add your tag to any episode in Buzzsprout using the Tags field. Check out the steps below with instructions on how to apply this to your own podcast!

Start in the Episodes page and click into the episode that you would like to tag. Click Edit this Episode and scroll down until you find the tags field. Enter your tags (separated by a comma) and be sure to hit Save and Update Episode when you are done. Then in the Episodes dropdown menu, choose Selected Tags to include all your episodes tagged with "Interview." CleanShot 2026-09-15 at 11.22.23@2x.png
Now just click Copy Embed Code and you will have the code for your custom player. CleanShot 2026-09-15 at 11.24.30@2x.png
The code generated will give you your customized player! If you give any new episodes that tag, they will show up in the player automatically. On that same page, you can customize the number of episodes included in a player and the artist pulled!
